Period Cycle Basics

Not all women bleed, and not all cycles look the same and that’s completely normal. Whether due to birth control, health conditions, menopause, or individual biology, some people move through life without a monthly period. But that doesn’t mean they’re disconnected from their cycle. Our bodies still ebb and flow in energy, mood, and intuition often in sync with internal rhythms or even the moon.

There’s no one way to experience your cycle. We honour every version, bleeding or not, because true wellness comes from tuning in to your own natural flow. And when you do that, you’re not just nurturing your health… you're tapping into your wealth.

The 4 Common Phases of a Cycle (And What Each One Might Feel Like)

Your menstrual cycle isn’t just about your period. It’s a full-body experience that unfolds over four distinct phases, each with its own mood, energy, and needs.

Menstrual Phase (Day 1–5)

Your period begins. Your uterus is shedding its lining, and hormone levels (estrogen and progesterone) are at their lowest. You might feel tired, introverted, or emotionally tender. Rest is not lazy, it's necessary.

Follicular Phase (Day 6–13)

Energy begins to rise. Estrogen increases, prompting the growth of a new egg follicle. You may feel creative, social, and mentally clear—like spring after winter.

Ovulation (Around Day 14)

The star of the show: your body releases an egg. Estrogen peaks, and libido may too. You might feel magnetic, confident, and outward-focused.

Luteal Phase (Day 15–28)

Progesterone rises to prepare the body for a potential pregnancy. You may start to feel sensitive, crave comfort, or experience PMS. Your body is signaling a turn inward again—like autumn before winter.

Each phase has its own wisdom. Learn to flow with it, it's powerful.
