Thank you
And, welcome! You’ve clicked Pay it Forward, and that means the world.
Here's what 'paying it forward' means in a (coco)nut shell;
- Your donation funds a reusable pad bundle of your choice.
- All of the reusable pads are made by our amazing team of Vanuatu women.
- These bundles are then delivered to communities and hospitals/ village clinics across the islands.
- To track impacts and to assist with planning we record everything; from who makes the donation, what pads were made, where they are donated and to whom.
- Can we dream with you? One day, our pads will flow beyond Vanuatu, across oceans and borders.

How It Works
-
1
A kind soul decides to pay it forward. The universe delivers instant warm and fuzzies and an order for the chosen bundle is placed.
-
2
Our team start to make the pads (unless we have stock already available). We will let you know once the your bundle order has been completed. We'll email you with photos!
-
3
Donated pads are distributed every two months. We use existing distribution networks to reduce costs and allow us to reach remote islands. We will notify you by email once your donation has been been received.
What you're donating towards
In remote island communities, period care is often out of reach. Your donation brings freedom, dignity, and peace of mind, month after month. Your gift reflects that value, and together, we’re creating real change.
Your generosity supports women across the Pacific. You are paying forward real reusable pad bundles that women in our team sew by hand. These pads are then gifted to Pacific Island women who often go without reliable period care.
Not only that, your gift is reducing the amount of landfill from plastic pads and tampon products. Helping women, families and reducing waste? Sea what good you've done?
Where your money goes
-
Material
We chose bamboo terry, bamboo fleece, and PUL for their softness, absorbency, eco-friendliness, and fun factor, a choice we truly value.
We believe that everyone who menstruates deserves quality products to support their natural monthly flow.
-
Exchange
Esther and her team are invaluable and the exchange for their time and energy reflects that.
-
Running costs
Our running costs are minimal, just the essentials like sewing equipment and a few digital tools to keep things flowing.
We don’t have overheads right now, as we run this operation off-grid. Thanks to the sun for our power, the rain for our water, and the land for holding it all together.
-
Distribution
Transport varies depending on location, with cars and local banana boats being our main delivery channels to date.
Volunteer support is key, our local community often lends a hand, and we love to thank them with simple refreshments in exchange. -
-
Packaging
Printed materials and packaging include flyers sent with each pad donation, offering important information on use and care, menstrual education, and acknowledgment of the generous donors.
Still fishing for answers?
How long does it take for the pads to be made and distributed?
The timing varies depending on the size of the order and whether we have stock available. We start the process as soon as a donation order is received and our aim is to fulfil orders as quickly as possible.
Why do we distribute every two months?
Vanuatu is made up of 83 islands with 65 of these inhabited! We coordinate bi-monthly distribution to streamline the process and keep it as efficient as possible.
Are donations tax deductible?
Unfortunately not. flow down below is not registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient outside of Vanuatu, so even though you are funding a beautiful altruistic outcome, it may not meet the your local Tax Office’s requirements for a deductible gift.
How do we decide who gets the donated pads?
We've done our best to approach this with fairness, knowing that many women in Vanuatu lack access to safe, effective, and high-quality period products.
Care begins within and flows far beyond. With this in mind, we’ve started close to home, supporting the villages and communities connected to our flow down below team. Vanuatu is made up of 83 islands, 65 of them inhabited. The women who craft our pads commute from villages on Espiritu Santo, the largest island, with roots in the Banks, Marlo, and Malekula Islands. Our first donations will go to these Santo villages, as well as nearby hospitals and clinics. From there, we’ll let the ripple of care travel naturally across the islands.
We believe that living in a remote area shouldn't mean missing out on good period care. That's why we've created this organic and systematic approach. We will use existing distribution networks to reach outlying islands one by one. We're also excited to one day partner with aid organisations so that our pads can be shared in remote areas where they operate.
Anonymous donations
Would you like to stay anonymous, or may we celebrate your kindness? Sometimes we highlight donors (first name only, or business name) to inspire others. If you'd rather keep your gift quiet, we respect that completely. Please add a note when viewing your cart (Order Instructions), saying 'quiet gift'. Thank you!
More about our overnight pad
Our overnight pad features a bamboo terry top layer, chosen for its ultra-soft texture and natural moisture-wicking properties. It gently draws liquid away from the skin, helping to keep you dry and comfortable, even during extended wear. Beneath this, a multi-layer bamboo fleece core provides excellent absorbency, bamboo fibres are not only highly absorbent (up to 60% more than cotton) but also naturally antibacterial, breathable, and biodegradable, making them a more environmentally conscious choice.
To prevent leaks, the pad includes a PUL (polyurethane laminate) backing layer, which is waterproof yet breathable. This layer acts as a reliable barrier against moisture while still allowing airflow to reduce irritation and odour build-up.
Designed with comfort and practicality in mind, the pad has a longer length and wider back to provide full coverage and protection while lying down, as well as a "flow curve" contour in the centre to help guide fluid into the core.
These pads can be hand washed and sun dried, or machine washed where facilities are available. They are quick drying, lightweight, and designed for repeated use, making them sustainable. Importantly, these reusable pads will be made available to women in Vanuatu’s outer islands, where access to stores are limited and travel can be restricted due to weather, health, or responsibilities. Durable snap wings help secure the pad in place, giving you peace of mind overnight or during heavier flow days.
